Kicking off the Season...

The table is staged and ready to go...their ornaments for this year and a spreader for their gingerbread houses. We are ready to decorate the tree and make gingerbread houses!!

All chaos breaks loose when Nick walks in the door! The kids can't get enough of him! Maybe we should just wrap him up in a present and give that to the kids for Christmas:)

Dominic has been going through his ornaments all week, reminiscing about each one. He is so excited for tonight!
"I love my Nicky"

candy...check. frosting...check. watching them decorate gingerbread houses...priceless!

About to open their ornaments for this year. Nick- basketball (first year making varsity), Dom- football (first year playing flag), Gianna- cupcake (she really wanted it at the store!)

Cheers!

The kids received their first gift- the holiday movie collection with all the classics. rudolf, frosty, santa claus is coming to town...etc!

Look Mom! Look how much I drank! Dominic LOVES this night because he gets to drink rootbeer!
This is Dom's year for putting the star on the tree.

Dom and G LOVE playing with the nativity set. G acts out all the different roles.

and of course...a family event would not be complete without a family wrestling match!! First it was Vinny tackling Nick, then Dom jumped in, and our little spitfire could not be left out- so on Gianna goes too!

Enjoying the evening

It takes a lot of concentration to make a gingerbread house of this caliber!

Gianna's masterpiece

Nick's masterpiece

Dom's finished house-he had me take a picture of EACH side! He was very proud.

I think we are ready to start the season! Tree decorated! Gingerbread houses done! Let's get it started!!

Love it!!!!!! All the kids look so happy and excited!
Couple questions.....
How do you put your gingerbread houses together? Do you buy a kit or put them together yourself for the kids to decorate? Do you use anything on the inside to help hold them up? Shawn wants to do them with the kids:) So we need your your tips and advice!
Thanks! (Love your christmas card by the way:))
