Five year old thoughts!

On Dom's bday this was our morning conversation:

Mommy: Dom, Happy birthday, you are 5!
Dom: I am five?! Really I am five?
Mommy: Yes, you are 5 right now!
Dom: But, how did that happen, that I just was 5? I am 5, right now?

He was trying to comprehend how you actually turn a new number...what is the magical formula? sooo thoughtful!

The day AFTER his birthday, he came in while I was getting ready:
"Mom, I am still five. "
Yes Dom you are!

I had also told him that God gave him the special present of snow on his birthday so that Daddy could stay home and play with him-no school! Wow...what an amazing birthday gift...we talked about this...so today he said while outside playing in the snow, "Mom, God gave me another present today-snow!"
